A comforting chicken sausage pasta that’s saucy, hearty, and full of classic Italian flavor. Steph’s Fresh Marinara coats tender shell pasta and browned sausage, with spinach stirred in at the end and a finish of mozzarella and parmesan for a cheesy, satisfying bite.

Prep Time: 5 Minutes | Cook Time: 20 Minutes | Serves: 4-5

INGREDIENTS

• 2 containers Steph's Fresh Marinara

• 1 package shell pasta

• 1 package of chicken sausage

• 4 cups spinach

• 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese 

• 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving

DIRECTIONS

1. Cook the sausage: Slice chicken sausage into rounds. Heat a pan over medium-high heat with a little olive oil, then add the sausage and cook until browned and lightly crisp on both sides.

2. Cook pasta: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook shell pasta until al dente, according to package directions. Reserve a small splash of pasta water, then drain.

3. Add the sauce: Reduce heat to medium. Add the two containers of Steph’s Fresh Marinara to the pan with the sausage and stir to combine. 

4. Add Spinach and Cheese: Reduce heat to medium-low. Add the spinach and stir until just wilted. Add the mozzarella and Parmesan and stir until melted and well combined.

5. Add the pasta: Add the drained pasta to the pan and stir together until evenly coated. If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.

6. Serve: Top with extra Parmesan and serve warm.
